Telehealth Psychologist/Counsellor in a Fast Growth Startup

LEARN ABOUT THE EMERGING FIELD OF COMPUTERISED CBT IN A MENTAL HEALTHTECH STARTUP. is startup using technology to improve mental health in the workplace. Our mission is to bring effective psychological support to employees both in Australia and internationally. You’re joining a team of great clinicians who all work from home and connect regularly via chatrooms and video call so that you feel connected and supported.

  • Work with high functioning clients who respond rapidly so you can see the difference you make.

  • Learn about online treatments (iCBT, cCBT, internet-delivered ACT), how they work and how to provide them

  • Work as much or as little as you like. Just tell us the number of clients you’d like per week and connect your preferred calendar. Any personal events in your calendar mean that clients can’t book you at that time.

  • Easy to take breaks and holidays: Most clients improve within 4 weeks so you aren’t restricted by ongoing commitments to manage a large caseload.

  • Work from home and pick the hours you want. We work in international time zones so you can start and finish early, work evenings, normal business hours or weekends.

  • Great support: we work hard to make sure that people feel connected and part of a team when you’re working remotely. We have software that allows you to chat to the Uprise team or to other coaches with people online from around 8am to 7pm most days. Plus 30 min fortnightly supervision (with at least monthly attendance mandatory) to keep you updated about new programs, answer your questions and help with any challenges.

  • Very low admin: We manage the bookings and we have a dedicated Customer Success team who deals with time consuming issues on your behalf.

  • Opportunity to see clients for individual work if that is indicated with 60% of the fee you charge going to you (and the 40% to Uprise means we continue to do the admin, bookings, client follow up etc and you can continue to use our software platform).

  • The Uprise team was founded by psychologists so there is a strong focus on great communication and keeping up psychological health at all times

As our Telehealth Psychologist you’d be required to:

  1. Provide CBT and ACT interventions via phone or video conferencing

  2. Maintain records within the Uprise CRM

  3. Attend supervision via phone or video conferencing a minimum of once per month

  • Solid CBT skills especially in conducting cognitive restructuring

  • Registration with a professional body

  • Some patience with technology. We are a tech company so occasionally there are bugs and we’ll need you to bear with us.

  • Capacity to connect and build rapport on the phone

  • Being organised. You’ll need to keep on top of your calendar and know when your bookings are as missed calls are bad for our clients and for our startup’s reputation.
